Take me out to the ball park

GO MAYHEM!!
Well it's that time of the year again-Baseball season!  Wyatt had his first tournament of the season this past weekend with his travel ball team.  They did good & finished 2-2.  It was the first of many weekends that will be spent at the ballpark  Abby's season hasn't started yet but it is just a few short weeks away and then with all the practices and games we will be in full baseball chaos :)  I can't wait til her games start though so I can get some pics of them together in their matching uniforms, see this year Wyatt's team is the Middle TN Mayhem and since there are three younger siblings on Abby's team they are the Mini Mayhem!
Showing off her support of the MY Mayhem

After the games on Saturday Abby and I had a little Mommy/Abby time and went to the nail salon, there is a new place here in town that has kid sized chairs.  This was her first time getting the full on pedicure treatment, before she has been to short to reach the water or foot rests in the big chairs.  She LOVED it, got to put her feet in the hot water, got a foot massage and even got her own hot towel wrap:)  She got her finger nails painted also-she was in heaven!  Of course she got them painted in Mayhem blue to show some love to the boys.  They also painted her a pretty flower on her big toes!

Lots of baseball and two trophies

Two weeks ago Wyatt played a crazy amount of baseball in 3 days and we spent an obscene amount of time at the ball park, but it was worth it in the end. He played 6 games in 3 days and on Sunday we were at the ball park for 12hrs due to a rain delay!

But they made it to the finals and ended up with the runner up trophy!

He still has 3 tournaments left to play this summer and we hope there are more trophies yet to come.

Then Abby's baseball season finished up this past Saturday after they made it to the championship game. Yep 5yr olds play end of the season tournaments where we play, and they play to win :)

Our team did great this year finishing the regular season 9-1 and then won 3 playoff games the last being Friday night and against the only team we had lost to. Shane promised the kids ice cream if they won and seriously that is all they cared about :) Needless to say they got their ice cream, and we made it to the finals!

Ready to play Saturday morning

They ended up loosing by 1 point but were thrilled to get a trophy!

Abby and Coach daddy after finishing a great season in 2nd place.

Did I ever mention he is an awesome coach and all the kids LOVE him :)

So now we are down to just one kid playing baseball for a little while! and this momma is happy for a bit of a break!

And just because this post is all about baseball I have to share this picture of Abby from a couple weeks ago, it was the first play off game and daddy let her play pitcher position the last inning. She LOVED it and did really well stopped a ton of balls and made throws to first base.

She ended up getting the game ball for a home run and doing so great playing her new favorite position. But unfortunately this momma is bad and forgot to take her picture with it :)

The cutest cheerleader in the stands!

A couple weekends ago Wyatt had another tournament and I finally got Abby's shirt done so she could show her support of big brother. I got his team name embroidered on the front

then I added his uniform number to the back with some numbers cut from fabric.

and then you have the makings of one super cute cheerleader!

We are on the home stretch of for her baseball season with only one regular game left then tournaments. Then we will have a bit of a break and only have to juggle one baseball season, the two of them playing is a bit crazy at times, we have practice basically every night of the week and if he plays on the weekend it can mean on Saturdays we have one game for her one place and two games for him at another place then at least one game on Sunday also.

So basically no sleeping in on the weekends and thats no fun for anyone!

Wordful Wednesday-My Ballers

We had a busy baseball weekend here again last weekend. Abby had a game on Saturday morning and Wyatt had 3 games Saturday one of which was at the same time as Abby's and 1 game on Sunday. So I am sporting fun tan lines that remind me for sunscreen to work you must one actually apply it and if my some chance to do remember to put some on you must reapply it ;)

I snapped some super cute pics of Abby in her gear.

Shane's mom took Wyatt to his game and as soon as Abby's was over we headed to the other ballpark. Abby loves hanging with the boys and usually fits right in with them. This is 2 of their favorite buddies that just happen to be identical twins and even though I have known them for about 4 yrs I still can't tell them apart other than knowing that one of them is currently wearing his hair a little longer:)

Can't you see the similarities? :)

Baseball time

So like I mentioned in my last post baseball has begun here in middle TN for my 2 kiddos. Wyatt is doing travel ball this year which is a big leap for us. Hubby and two other guys got together and decided that this was the year to take it on. So many boys their age have been playing travel ball for a couple of years but we didn't want him to get burned out at an early age. I was a little nervous about it but gave in after hubs and the other 2 guys decided to keep it local and not every weekend. So even though it is called travel ball we really aren't traveling, we only have 3 tournaments outside of the county we live in and those still are only like 45min away.

I have joked with Wyatt and told him when he hits it big in the MLB he owes us! We have racked up lots of hours, miles and $$$$ to further his baseball career, lets just hope it pays off someday :)

With all that being said he played his first tournament a couple weeks ago. They played 5 games over the weekend and he really seemed to love it. He gets along great with all the boys on his team and all the parents are great so I am really looking forward to a fun summer spent at the ball park.

He plays catcher sometimes, this is him behind the plate and just so happened to be one of his best buddies batting! He later went on to tag Brock out at home plate with an awesome dive at him as he was sliding into the plate, luckily Brock didn't hold it against him ;)

He also plays 2nd base

His team looks so great in their uniforms, the guys came up with a great team name and logo. So we will at least look like we got it all together :) I forgot to snap a pic of just Wyatt alone so I will have to post one of those later, maybe I will get a good one of Wyatt and Abby this Saturday after her game with them both in the ball uniforms.

Abby's first game is tonight and thus begins us going crazy over juggling two kids playing baseball at two different places, it has always been them at the same park. They both have a game on Saturday so looks like a divide and conquer Saturday for us! Shane is Abby's head coach so of course he has to be at her game which leaves me in charge of him.

And just like that it is all over

After last night it is official. "Fall"ball is over, I use the term fall loosely, mainly because the TN heat made it feel more like middle of the summer baseball. Last night was the only game that felt the least bit of fall.

Abby ended her season last Thursday night. Shane was an awesome head coach again and had a couple brave dads helping him out. I with the help of a couple other moms manned the dugout and that is a feat in itself-just picture it 13 four yr olds hopped up on Gatorade:)

We had a party after her last game and coach daddy handed out trophies, the name tag was for the dugout I am all about assigned seating in there it helps keep the chaos in check.

Wyatt was very excited at last night's game when he got to make his big pitching debut.

He did well struck out a couple players and only hit one:) it was rather funny cause the kid ducked and it hit him on the top of his head (he had on helmet so he was ok) I only think it was funny cause he kinda got his revenge. He was hit during the season more than once, in fact I think it was more like 6 times! He got hit twice in one game! He also got hit last night, it really just became normal for him to get hit and take his base.

So now Shane will come home from work and we will be like "what do we do now" cause we have been at the ballpark every night the past few weeks.

We have decided to throw our hat into the travel ball game with Wyatt next spring. Shane and a couple other guys are gonna get a team together. We won't go all out and just will play local stuff so no real travel involved. I am most excited for him to play a tournament in our home town on the same fields Shane grew up playing on. Can't wait to show him our old stomping grounds as we both spent many of hours running around that ball park.

We really need to figure out how to stay busy to pass the days until DISNEY!!

My ballers-Wordful Wednesday

The other night both of the kids had a ball game so I just had to get them together looking so cute in their uniforms.

This week we are at the ballpark every night with 5 games. Next week we are also there every night with 6 games! Oh the joys of 2 kids playing sports:) but to soon ball season will be over and we will be missing running crazy busy every night.

Back to School-My big 3rd grader

Well he survived his first week of back to school. I am so excited that he got the teacher I requested and he also got in class with his BF-he and Will have been in the same class every year since Kindergarten. They are also playing on the same baseball team seriously these two boys are inseparable. I was so nervous this year would be the year they got separated, so glad I was wrong.

He would not let me take a picture of him at school so I snapped one in the driveway on the way out the door, it's the best I could do.

He is getting so big-sniff sniff

Hard to believe I will be posing them both for school pics next year since Abby will be a Kindergartner! OMG

Next week also is the start of "fall"ball I use the word "fall" loosely cause lord knows it is in NO way fallish here! With temps around 100 each day I foresee alot of hot grumpy kids. I also foresee us running around like chickens with our heads cut off since both will be playing and since Wyatt has moved up to kid pitch & is on the other side of the park. We somehow drew the short stick and they both have their first game at the same time and since Shane is the coach of Abby's team he obviously has to be there and I am planning on trying to watch both so looks like I better wear my running shoes:) Our schedule is gonna be crazy over the next few weeks, but we will manage we always do.

Following in Daddy's footsteps

So last week Wyatt played in another baseball tournament, he had a blast and I have to admit so did we. The boys didn't all know each other, they had been thrown together just the week before from some travel teams and MBA teams. Wyatt goes to school with a couple of them but had never been in class with them so only sorta knew them. He is only friends with one of them, but they all got along so well and cheered each other on with some great chants from the dug out. When they got a home run there would be this huge cheer from them then they would attack who ever had hit it as he tried to get back in the dug out. It was alot of fun to see him have such a great time with all these boys who all love what he loves-BASEBALL.

He also got a chance to play new positions and played 3rd base in one game and catcher in the other 2 games. Unfortunately the last game got rained out and there was no makeup game. The last game was for the championship and our guys would have so won it, but they ended in 2nd place cause the team they were to play had the higher seed in the game against us.

He absolutely LOVED playing catcher and let me tell ya daddy was also proud. See catcher was Shane's position sure he played others but he mostly played catcher and from what I have been told he dominated at that position. So when Wyatt said he wanted to learn it and play it Shane jumped at the chance to get his son behind the plate.

like my videos? they are from my new favorite toy. My Flip camera goes everywhere with me now, it was Shane and I's anniversary gift to each other. It is so much fun, it takes awesome HD videos and you can even take a piece of the video and clip it into a picture which is awesome since I love pics but can't really take a video and snap pictures at the same time.

Wordful Wednesday-big hitter

Baseball is still in full swing, the four year old Diamondbacks are a team to be feared!

On opening day they had an airbrush guy there, well every good baller has gotta have a great helmet.

your not getting tired of the baseball pics r you?

Take me out to the ballpark

Saturday was opening day at the park, it may have started off yucky and rainy but soon the rain moved out and it turned into a gorgeous day.

Both Wyatt and Abby had a game that day, so since I had them both in their uniforms I had to snap a picture of them looking so cute.

I mean seriously how great is that?

My second baseman

he played an awesome game, he is really loving baseball and hanging out at the park with his friends. He has really came into his own since fall ball. They had a game last night and the entire team looked great they were making some great plays and really looking like the big guys out there.

Abby's game ended up being moved to Saturday evening she played great and ended up with the game ball!

Spring means baseball

Baseball season is gonna keep us busy this spring with both of them playing. Just this week in a span of 7 days we have some sort of baseball thing 5 days. 2 practices, 1 scrimmage and 3 games! yep we are living at the ballfield. But I have to admit it is fun, well for now at least, ask me around mid May when I am so tired and my head hurts from trying to keep up with their schedules.

Abby had her first game last night and let me tell ya it was fun and interesting. 13 four year olds in a dugout and on a field can get a little hairy. At one point at the end of the game I am pretty sure all the outfield were laying on the ground or playing in the dirt:)

Abby did great, she had two really good hits and ran fast! She was paying attention and stopping balls although once she wasn't quite sure what to do with it once she got it:)

Assigned seating is a must in a dugout of 4yr olds or 7yr olds for that matter, we learned this a long time ago. Now getting them to read their names and stay in their seats is another thing.

Ready to go hit

Big Hitter!

My little second baseman, yep that's right a girl playing in the infield infact both of the girls are playing in the infield and give those boys a run for their money.

We have 2 games on Saturday let hope the rain holds off.
