25 random things

So my life has been kinda boring lately so I thought I would steal an idea I have seen a few other bloggy friends doing lately.

So here it goes 25 random things you may or may not know about me!

1. I met the hubs when I was 16 and he was 18

2. I was 21 when I got married, 23 when I had my first baby. We were the first to get married and have kids out of all our friends.

3. I have a tattoo on my foot, it is a motherhood knot for my kiddos-YES is hurt

4. I have a bit of an obsession with blogs and read quite a few but am addicted to some of them.

5. I am also addicted to my cell phone and have been know to turn my car around to go back home to get it. I really love my new one since it has a full keyboard and I can text away.

6. I have only lived in 2 houses.

7. I was a homeowner at 20; Yes that means Shane and I lived in sin before we were married! I love my house and wouldn't mind staying here forever.

8. I love love the beach, we go to the same one every year-I would stay a month if I could.

9. I never finished college-life got in the way

10. I am also addicted to coffee and drink it everyday, sometimes in the morning and in the the evening after dinner.

11. I have a favorite coffee cup that I drink out of, it came from a Starbucks in Chicago and it is huge so it may be actually like drinking 2 cups of coffee.

12. That trip to Chicago is the only time I have taken a girls only trip-It was back in '04 and was tons of fun.

13. I haven't always been a SAHM I did go back to work when Wyatt was 8wks old-it sucked. Luckily my boss was a you know what and made it easy to quit, we had an argument and when he said "maybe you should find someplace else" I said "OK" and walked out-I never went back.

14. I may go back to work when Abby starts school, I would love to work at a school as a TA, but only with little kids like K-3. They develop to much of an attitude after that. I decided I liked this while helping with the kids in Wyatt's class there are too many uninvolved parents out there.

15. I love to try to be crafty-scrapbooking, knitting, making tutus etc.

16. Shane and I worked together for 2yrs, 7 of these months were before we got married, and I really did like working with him.

17. I have been coloring my hair for to many years to remember-Unfortunately these days it is to cover grey hair not because I think it is cute, although I do think it is cute.

18. I started coloring my own hair maybe a year or two ago-We are poor and I can't afford to pay someone $80 every 6wks when I can do it for about $5!

19. I turned 30 recently and I am ok with it-sorta

20. I drive a minivan and love my mini I found out when I had 2 kids that space in a car is a premium.

21. Speaking of cars I have had 7-I think.

22. My first car was paid for by my dad-it was a big ol' truck-Yes I was a little red neck in high school-Wranglers, boots and all. I paid for my 2nd car, then it was totaled out 4mths later when and idiot turned in front of us, Shane was driving, we made lots of money off of it!

23. I have never been fired from a job.

24. I hate to go to the dentist and haven't been since I was preggo with Abby and got very sick to my stomach while she was working thought I was gonna pass out and made her stop and sit me up. I want to go to one of those sleep dentist places and just let them fix it all while I sleep.

25. wow this is hard-what to tell you last hmmmmmmmm....

I haven't read an actual adult book in a long time-they all consist of pictures these day, I actually really liked reading a Junie B Jones book with Wyatt recently (is that sad?)

The big party day

We had Abby's birthday party this past Saturday, much to hers and my relief see seems as though 3yr olds have a hard time understanding the whole birthday and party on different days thing. She asked everyday and more than once if it was her party day. When she was told "nope not today" she would come back with "it's taking forever!!"-this is her newest favorite thing to say, in her mind everything takes forever.

So we had a good turnout and she had lots of little friends to play with. The kids played and ate snacks.

Then it was time for the all important present opening.

Don't you love her shirt? My cousin just got a embroidery machine (which I am very jealous BTW) and she made it for her!

Then on to the cake-don't you love Frosty? I made him:)

Here's my little birthday girl who is quickly becoming my not so little girl.

Writer's Workshop: A favorite picture taken

The Prompts:

1.) Tell us about a memorable blind date.-Never been on one

2.) Other than the birth of a child or your wedding, write about a joyous moment.-I was a homeowner before 21 that was pretty joyous but not that interesting to write about.

3.) Write about one of the most difficult decisions you have made in your life.-Never had to make a terribly difficult decision

4.) Share the best picture you took last month and explain why it's your favorite.-Seeing I take 84,000 pics a month this is surely to be the easiest, but which one to choose.

OK so this may not be the "best" picture I took last month but it is pretty freaking funny, well at least it is to me. See it was right before Christmas it was a Friday-woohoo payday. I had to go do some shopping for Shane & it was late afternoon so I ran thru the drivethru at McDonald's to get them some food so they would make it thru said shopping trip. I then pulled into the bank (which is across the street for McD's) I tell them to hurry and eat and be done before we get to the mall. I open Abby's chicken nugget box and sit it in her lap she starts eating, I pull up and wait to put my $$ in the bank (so I can buy said gift). I turn around and see this: Notice the nugget in her hand trying to make it to her open mouth.

I burst out laughing and immediately started snapping pics-exactly why I always have my camera in my purse you never know when a blog worthy moment may present itself. It was so funny she was trying to eat but she was so sleepy she couldn't decide which to do.

Soon the sleep won out over the hunger.

But it was a pleasant trip to the mall because she stayed asleep until we were just about finished purchasing the gift. Which also led to her subsequently telling hubs what the gift was just days later. note to self:don't trust the 2yr old with any major secrets!

Abby's big day

Well her big day went well, She started the day with her present from us-A new bike and some flowers from daddy.

She got her hair washed cut and blow dried and she loved it. The lady cut about 1 inch off but I can tell the difference in how it looks. She seemed to really like it all. She picked out purple polish and even though she messed them up they look(ed) cute.

You can kinda tell that it has been cut in this picture

We then went to lunch with our favorite guy-Daddy! We went to a burger/ice cream place and it was really yummy.

her after lunch treat-A strawberry milkshake it was so good- fresh ice cream and real strawberries; I was lucky and she shared it with me!

She got her other gift from us after daddy got home from work

Look at these cool rocker chic sunglasses; Pink with skulls!

Then after her dinner of pizza and cheese sticks! she got her birthday cookie

Happy 3rd birthday Abby

Three years ago today our lives were changed for the better forever. The day began bright and early with my arrival at the hospital at 4am! She made her way into the world at 10:18am.

Over the last 3yrs she has blossomed into the most beautiful little girl. I know she is no longer a baby and it is only a matter of time before she will be all grown up and breaking some poor boy's heart. So right now I hold tight to the little bitty that she is.

She is a drama filled little diva on most days and we lovingly refer to her as our "little evil", but she does have a way with charming her way into everyone's heart she meets.

Today we are going for a fun "spa" day. She will be getting her hair done which includes a hair cut (she has never had one at all) and she will be getting a mini manicure. She says she is excited but we shall see if her inner diva rears it's ugly face at the salon. We are also going on a lunch date with daddy.

Watch my little slide show of her over the last three years (make sure to turn up the volume-I love this song).

Jack Frost needs to back off!

I am sure most everyone is cold, but it is freaking crazy cold here. So much so they closed schools today in most all counties. It was a bone chilling 3 degrees here this morning and is 27 right now and that is the high WTH is up with that? The worst part is it is that cold and we still can NOT get any freaking snow here in TN. I am over the cold, I am ready for spring.

Wyatt was very excited to get today off since there is also no school Monday for MLK day so we get a 4 day weekend here. Saturday is shaping up to be a very busy day-Bday party for one oh so special soon to be 1yr old, then Shane is taking Wyatt deer hunting for juvenile weekend, then he has to rush home and he and I are off to the hockey game with NO, I repeat NO children. Sunday there is another birthday party for a friend of Wyatt's they are playing laser tag, he is so excited even though he has never played laser tag.

Oh and I read on the Baseball park we play at are starting there Spring ball sign ups this weekend! So that means spring can't be that far away.

Oh and Abby will be turning the big 3 on Tuesday she and I have big plans for that day, hair cut (which she has never had), nails done and lunch with Daddy. Stayed tuned for an extra special "all about Abby" post coming up.

Sorry I am so boring today not alot of excitement around here!

The floors are down and we are still married

Well folks they are done and we love them. OMG the transformation it made in the living room/hall and kitchen.

It started on Friday & we were lucky to have a friend showed up to do a little manual labor, it made the demolition part go alot faster.

Hubs got started laying them by Friday afternoon and by Friday night this is what we had.

And this was the injury report that night! He had smashed 2 of his fingers and one of them he had smashed twice:)

Shane finished putting the floor down on Sunday and yesterday we tried to get the house back to normal-furniture, tv, and most importantly my computer and internet! We haven't been able to paint the 1/4 round because it is freezing outside so we will be getting it done sometime this week. So we are not 100% finished but it looks so awesome and SO much better I had to share.

looking from the kitchen

It goes down the hall

My new kitchen! excuse the basket on the stove it is the stuff that needs to go back into my china cabinet.

MIA for a couple of days

I don't have alot to talk about but some excitement will be going on around here for the next few days!

We are finally getting new floors WOOHOO. When we bought our house 9yrs ago we put new carpet in and it was all pretty, that is til these dirty kids came along.

We got it the other day and it has sat the appropriate amount of time and tomorrow is D day. We will be ripping the dirty old carpet and funky kitchen floor up and Shane (and maybe me) will be installing pretty wood floors. I am SOOOO excited.

So lets hope this goes well and he and I aren't divorced after this "little" DIY project.

Here are a couple random pics from the hockey game tonight-which we won!

Aww look at us with our cute little matching scarfs

He really does love to have his picture made

Abby and her new playhouse

So do any of you remember this post?

Well obviously someone was reading, and she got it for Christmas. My dad came over one day and started putting it together with help from me-(yes I know how to read instructions) and Shane finished it up on New Years Day. It is a great little playhouse only problem with it was the 84,000 screws it took to put it together.

We had bought her some stuff for Christmas knowing this was coming and I was SOOOO glad it was put together so I could get that stuff and more outside to the playhouse and out of her room cause seriously the girl has got SO much stuff in her room.

So we got out the other day when it was semi warm and NOT raining so that she could check it all out. She loved playing in it and then her and the little girl I watch made some dinner.

Here she is stirring the "dinner"

Just sitting and enjoying her front porch

Rocking in the New Year

Well 08 is in the books, here's to a hopefully fantastic 09!

We were lucky and got to be child free for New Years Eve so Shane and I went to a yummy dinner at Bonefish Grill, then we headed to our friends house and rocked out to Rock Band on the Wii.

We quickly discovered that we were less than awesome, needless to say none of us will be quitting our day jobs in the near future to start up a band:)

Me and the hubs with our mini band

Me on drums, hubs on guitar and Liz on vocals

This is harder than it looks but was freaking hilarious. Thankfully she has 2 children that are deep sleepers and were not awaken by our "music".
