Christmas 08

OK Fess up you know you're glad it's over-I know I am; only problem all this STUFF and what to do with it!

We had a great time, the kids got WAY too much stuff and now I am suffering & trying to find a place to put it all. I did pretty good and the hubs got some good stuff himself. Our big one is still to come-we are getting new floors in the kitchen, living room and hall. Hardwood to be exact, we've got to get rid of this dirty carpet that my children have pretty much ruined.

I had to do collages because I took 523,781 pictures over all the celebrations.

Lets start with Christmas Eve-We went to his aunts house & were an hour late cause that's how we roll :) then home to open their special Christmas jammies and to my surprise hubs got me some also to open:), then track Santa thanks to NORAD we found out they were in Argentina, out to feed the reindeer, change into said jammies, put some milk and cookies out, Daddy reads "Twas the Night Before Christmas", then off to dream land. Then mommy locks the kids in their rooms and we stay up til Midnight wrapping all their stuff-then quickly realize they got WAY too much stuff.

On to Christmas Morning-6:30AM to be exact!!!
Yep seems as though all those "reports" from Jingles were good and Santa came. He ate all his cookies and drank all his milk, he also made a mess from the fireplace, which Shane had to vacuum up the next morning:)

(All the green and red presents are from Santa)

Here are some family pics-excuse my no makeup look I told you it was early!

And this one I HAD to share-Remember when I said that our new puppy Jet was famous by association? Well this will give you a bit more into that. See my hubs has some connections to a country music guy, and this singer who happens to sing one of my favorite songs has also written a book based on that song "My Little Girl". Anyone know this one? Well his connection put a bug into said singer/author's ear that Shane wanted one of these books for his little girl. Well he came thru and got Shane the book complete with an autograph from the author. Oh and a pic of him and his also very famous beautiful wife Faith signed by both of them!!! I had NO clue this was coming and was floored when she opened it, she loved the book & of course had no clue about the signature but oh well Mommy sure was happy about it.

Then after we somewhat got the destruction from mommy/daddy & Santa gifts cleaned up it was time for more with Gram, Pappy and Pa. We ate a huge yummy breakfast, then the real craziness began. They really racked up from the grandparents. The biggies were Abby's TV and big outside wooden playhouse and Wyatt's gun-yep that's how we do it here in the south 6yr olds get guns for Christmas:) and he also got a Nintendo DS.

Last night we went to Shane's dad and they got even MORE stuff from Mindy. Wyatt loves his basketball goal for his door and had to hang it up when we got home last night.

Today we were back to a bit more reality, but are planning on partying hard come New Years Eve-Not really we are old and boring and will just drop the kids with MIL and go out to eat.

Hope your Christmas was good and your house is as overrun with toys as mine is!!!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from my family to yours

I hope this year has been a good one and I hope you find yourself surrounded by family and friends during this special time.

p.s. make sure to scroll on down to see Santa!

Santa years gone by

We finally made it to see the big guy, aka Santa the other day. The kids had their lists all in their heads ready to lay it on him.

When we got there they informed us that we may or may not get to see him since it was almost time for Santa to feed the reindeer, we stood in line anyways figuring there would be no way he could turn some cuties away. Well we were lucky and they got to see him.

Wyatt told him he wanted a red Nintendo DS and Mario Cart for it, some Bakugan, a Spy gear tank and some other stuff. Abby said she wanted princess stuff not sure what else she said. Wyatt didn't want to sit on his lap but beside him, but Santa forced him to do it anyways.

I had to reminisce on the years gone by and visits to Santa and I thought I would share them with you guys.

2002-Wyatt was only 5 1/2mths old and luckily to young to be scared.

2003-This was the year we had to wait for him to get back from feeding his reindeer and so the excitement kinda wore off and the nerves set in, it took some bribing to get him on the big guys lap, notice the crayon in one hand Hershey's kiss in the other, oh and the big tear on his cheek.

2004-All is good, with Wyatt at least, but what is up with the angry Clause?

2005-Last year all alone with the big guy

2006-Time to start sharing the lap

2007-we had breakfast with them and listened to he and Miss Clause read a story

and finally this year

Writer's Workshop: Snow Day!

3.) Last night it snowed buckets and you are forced to spend the entire day at home with your family...what's the plan!?!

Well we didn't get buckets of snow, but we did get enough to close school-which in TN isn't saying much:)

Here you never now how much snow will come or how long it will stick around so when it does happen you better get right out in it and play, and that is exactly what we did-in the Dark!!

The kids loved it and it was worth the numb fingers I got while out snapping pics of them playing.

So the next day there was no school and what's the plan? well playing in the snow of course! Like I said we never know when it's coming again! So even if it was only about 1 1/2 inches we were playing.

This time we dressed a little better for the occasion.

Then we came in for some hot chocolate and a warm breakfast, yep we played before we ate! The rest of the day was spent being lazy and watching some of the snow melt.

Wordful Wednesday-What should he ask for?

For Christmas that is?

I have had thoughts about this since I found out that his two top teeth were both loose, I knew I would have them out of his mouth before Christmas just so I could take this picture and write this caption.

"All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth"

Shane pulled the first one on Thursday night, unfortunately we had an "incident" & by incident I mean swallowing of the tooth :) Yep Shane yanked it and it went backwards into his throat he gagged I yelled "don't swallow it" but it was too late it was gone! He started to cry and we assured him it was OK and he could write a letter to the tooth fairy explaining what had happened, he did and she left him his five spot.

I told him since it was daddy's fault that he swallowed the tooth that daddy should have to find the tooth the next day. Daddy however didn't go for this idea and the tooth was lost forever.

The other one came out on Sunday night under a bit more prompting than the first one had taken, I think he was a bit gun shy with the whole swallowing tooth incident. He held a wash rag in his mouth this time and all was good. $5 more-this boy is getting rich!

How would you like these people as your neighbors?

So we loaded up Friday night and did our run by Starbucks for Hot Chocolate and Hot Apple Spices and were off to look at Christmas lights.

There is a house here were we live that is pretty famous for their shall we say elaborate display. They have it all set to music!! It is crazy and fun but I could not imagine living next door to these people. There must have been a dozen cars parked on both sides of the road while we were there.

Abigail was loving it and was dancing her heart out,I recorded her but it was so dark you can barely see it. They have their own radio station you tune to and listen to the music. There were 5 songs this year.

Here is a little video I took.

He gets to have all the fun

So I mentioned previously about Shane leaving for 5 days, well he went to South Dakota to go pheasant hunting. Was I jealous-YEP! jealous that he was in South Dakota-Not so much after all it was about 10 degrees there! But I was jealous that he got to leave and go out of town to do something he loves.

He brought back some pretty pictures of the frozen state.

There was frozen water that big grown men had to walk over-I just wish I could have been there to see them slipping and sliding all over the place, Shane said it was pretty hilarious.

But mostly there was just lots of snow and cold weather and frozen stuff.

Here is the great hunter himself

So since he was gonna be gone all weekend the kids and I loaded up and went to my dad's house Friday night. He lives almost 2hrs away and it had been a while since we had made the drive up there. It was a cold weekend but we bundled up and braved the cold anyways, after all there were things to be done.

Like feeding cows

Abby was so excited to see the baby cow. Although she wasn't so baby anymore she had gotten big and Abigail was a bit intimidated when I walked away from her and the cows were eyeballing her, wanting her to move so they could get to their hay.

and riding four wheelers-Yes this was very cold.

here's Abby attempting to drive

We had a fun cold weekend but were happy to get home since that meant Shane would be home soon.

Picking out the Perfect Tree!

Thanks to my husband's departure from the state for 5 days last week we have just gotten our tree. We always have had a live tree and we always get it from Hobby Lobby.

Wednesday night we loaded up and went on the look out for the "perfect tree" and we found it.

Last night we finally decorated it!-Yes it is infront of our door, that is the only place to put it!

Remember all those special ornaments? Here are some of them.

My beach ones (I unfortunately didn't get one the first year so there is just 3)

Just one of their "first Christmas" ornaments

And my cutie pie when he was SOOO little-what happened to this baby boy?

And last but not least the Snow Flake on the top

Now for your viewing pleasure I present you with our Christmas Tree of 2008!
