So much to talk about

Well after a long hard week I have returned to the Internet world, much to Shane's dismay. My computer died on me and after a couple days at the computer guy he told me I needed a new hard drive.

There has been lots going on in the Stokes house. We will start with of course baseball. We won our game last weekend and had this weekend off. So now we stand at 5-0-1 which puts us in 2nd place out of 14 5yr old teams. We have 3 games left and they will be tough ones but I think our guys and girls are ready for it, then we have the playoffs.

Here is a pic of Wyatt with his game ball from last Saturday he had an awesome game, made all 3 outs in one inning and made a couple more during the game. He got some great hits also.

Next more about Wyatt he is officially no longer a Kindergartner and is now a 1st Grader!! The past two weeks have really been relaxed with lots of fun times had at school. He went for his last day Fri and will just go to pick his report card up Wed. I am sure I will shed some tears. To think I was so afraid to send him and now I am so sad that it is over. I really enjoyed his teacher and felt she was a great influence on him during the past 9 months. It was hard to turn him over to another woman since I had always been with him from the start. I was so glad she really fell for Wyatt and really enjoyed having him in her class. Last week they held an awards ceremony and Wyatt received 2 medals both believe it or not for great behavior!! One was No Marks, and the other was Citizen of the Year (which is the top award for the class). Yes I couldn't believe it either, I joke and tell her she needs to share her secrets with me on getting him to be a perfect angel. I will definitely miss her and her aide next year.

Here is Wyatt with his medals

My cute family at Wyatt's award ceremony

We had a nice long weekend and spent most of it outside in the gorgeous weather. We got the kids a big pool to play in, Shane and dad built a cover thing for his boat & we had my dad and Shane's mom over for dinner last night. We awoke this morning to a hose spraying water from under our kitchen sink not sure how long it had been spraying but there was lots of water, luckily my hubs is handy and is in there fixing it right now, then we spent most of the day outside before the rain started and then the kids played on the Wii.

Running with the Wii

Here is just a pic of Abby at Wyatt's school water day where the fire department comes and sprays the kids with the fire hose. She is really gonna miss school also she loves getting to go to class and play with the big kids I have been lucky his teacher loved having her there.

Girls Night Out-NO kids aloud

That's right you heard me correctly, NO kids aloud and that is saying alot because between the three of us there is 6. Four of which are 2 or younger. These two girls are the greatest friends. We admit to life getting in the way too often for us to get together like we know we should, but that is what is so great we can not see each other or even get a chance to speak for some time but we always just pick back up where we left off.

Jamie I have known pretty much for forever, since we were in 2nd grade. She has seen and been there with me thru so many things in my life it is crazy. Elizabeth and I met later in high school but it was an immediate friendship that I knew was for a lifetime.

They both stood beside me and I beside them on one of the most important days of our lives. We have have been there for all the "I'm Pregnant" announcements, births of children and all the questions on raising those children. I hope to see our children as great friends and hope to continue a great friendship with these great women for many years to come.

Overdue post from my mothers day weekend

So this past weekend was a fabulous one we went out to eat at Goten Japanese restaurant which is one of my favorite places to eat. It is a hibachi style place and we have really been wanting to take the kids cause we thought they would really enjoy it and they did. They even ate the food!

Then after dinner we went to Opryland hotel to stay the night, neither Shane or I had ever stayed there. We had a room in the Cascades part and had a balcony overlooking it all. It was awesome Wyatt just kept saying how cool it was, and it was so cool cause it was like the outside was inside.

Mothers day I woke to some wonderful cards from the kiddos and then we walked to a restaurant there to eat. It was in the Delta part and was on the water which the kids also loved.

The only bad part of the entire thing was the camera crazy me FORGOT my camera. I was so upset, but we did snap some with Shane's phone so you will have to forgive the quality of the pics.

A come from behind

Man oh man was Saturday's tball game fun. They got off to a slow start and were pretty far behind, but the team rallied and came SO close to pulling out the win. But all is good we did not loose but tied.

Wyatt made an awesome play at home getting a 3rd out and keeping them from scoring a run. He also had some good hits, but did get out at 3rd base once.

Coach Shane was so proud of his team he took them all to Sonic for ice cream cones afterwards. He is the best coach ever.

Sorry this is the only pic I got from Saturday because the camera crazy me actually forgot my camera and I snapped this in the car after sonic with my phone

Some good thought needed

I just wanted to make a short little post today not about us or the kids, but about my wonderful neighbor Donna. I am asking that everyone who reads this will take just a moment of your busy day to think a good thought for her today.

See today is a hard day for her it will be the beginning of what we all know will be a tough battle. Today is her first chemo treatment for her breast cancer that she has been fighting for a little while now and everyone thought she had beaten.

Her cancer was discovered early on thankfully to her yearly mammogram, and she eventually underwent a double mastectomy. During a recent visit to her Dr a tumor was discovered and a biopsy was done.

This is a terrible disease that doesn't pick or choose who it affects. She is not just another Breast Cancer patient but a mother, a daughter, and a friend to many. So think a good thought that she beats this.

8 years ago today

This day I Married my Best Friend
The one I Laugh with, Live for, Dream with, Love.

8 yrs ago today Shane and I said "I do". We had met 5 1/2 yrs earlier on Christmas night. We were in high school and I had turned 16 just 2 mths before and he had just turned 18 days before.

Over the many years we have been thru many things together. We have been there for each other thru the good times and the bad times. I hope to have many more good times with him. That day we vowed to love each other forever and I hope that one day when it is time for our children to make those same vows to the one they love they will look back at out marriage as an example of how it should be. He is a wonderful father, husband and provider. I love to watch him spend time with his son teaching him to play baseball and doing all the "boy" stuff with him. Then to see him snuggling with his little girl watching a princess movie.

I went thru some very old and not so old pictures and made a slide show of our years together, it really was funny to look back on it all and to see how much we have changed and grown together.

The Nationals go undefeated!

We had a makeup game on Friday night but then our Sat. morning game was rained out. Our Friday night game was awesome we pulled out another win and so now the Nationals are 4-0! Shane is so excited and the kids are having a blast. He mentioned more than once after Friday nights game that it was one of the funnest games yet. We have a 7 run per inning rule and after we scored 7 in the first, then held them to 3, then scored 7 again they couldn't catch us. So Shane started mixing up the players letting them play many different positions so all of the outfield came to the infield and really got to make alot of plays. The best of the night and possibly of the season would have to be when one of the little girls stopped the ball and was doing just what coach had told her to do if she got the ball which was run to 2nd and get the out. She was running so fast and was gonna make the out when her hat blew off her head she stopped in her tracks turned around and ran for it, therefor missing making the out. Everyone in the stands erupted in laughter, it was great and reminds us once more they are only 5 and as long as they are having fun that is really all that matters.

Here are a few pics from the night

Check out that swing

And that lead off, just like coach taught him

A look of innocence

And missing a shoe

Be sure to check in tomorrow for a very special post. Just a hint: It is a special day for both Shane and I. I will admit to stealing the idea from a great friend.
